An Update from Mexico!

Hello friends, family and blog-stalkers!Just a quick little update from Mexico! B-Funk and I are down here shooting a wedding (and YES - the weather is BEAUTIFUL by the way! ;0) and we are having a fabulous time! For anyone who has called my phone the past few days, I can only receive text messages and e-mails, so if you need me - go that route!
 

So, on our second day here, we ventured out with the clients around La Isla Mujeres via golf cart! We ended up getting a SWEET personal tour by this dude who created an island by using recyclable materials (like plastic bottles, trash, etc) to basically create a renewable island! It's really pretty sweet! This is his second island - the first one he lived on for 7 years before it was destroyed by a hurricane! It's really pretty amazing!

 

Shooting a wedding on this island was absolutely AMAZING! Brandon and I decided to do some time-lapse shit later on in the night and this is what turned out!

 
I have also been shooting a TON of film these past couple weeks!
I'm soooo excited to see what I've got!
 

Vegas: Red Rock Canyon!!

I have wanted to shoot in Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas for a while now! So, I figured that this year was the year to make that happen! I also always wanted to shoot at dawn! It was gorgeous! With the sun coming up and the truly golden light - a girl with her camera couldn't go wrong!

It was a long day - models, hair and makeup showed up to the hotel at 3am, but it was TOTALLY worth it! We were also able to experiment with outdoor studio lighting in direct sunlight vs natural ambient light!

Many photographers joined me and it was a fabulous excuse to try out new techniques!

WPPI Party Photos!

Well - today is our last day in Las Vegas and I have a TOOOONNNNN of editing to do on some sa-WEEEEEET photos from photo shoots the past couple days!

While we were in town, we had the pleasure of catching up with Jenny and Reed who's wedding B-Funk and I shot this past season!

Vegas: Day 1!

Our first day in Vegas was a ton of fun, yet a whirlwind! I always forget how overwhelming Vegas can be - but SO. COOL!!!

Today we had a full on photoshoot with some FABULOUS photographers...more images from that to come!

VEGAS BABY VEGAS!!!

The time has come to make the trek to Las Vegas for WPPI (aka...the annual mecca for photographers around the world!)

This year, we are celebrating a fabulous year by taking the entire Photogen Inc crew out to Vegas! This week is going to be filled with scoping out the new hot products, seeing old friend, meeting new ones, shooting some OH-SO-FABULOUS images and...PARTIES!!!

Minnesota meets Hollywood!

It's about time MinneSNOWta got some attention! I'm secretly really excited for the new movie 'New in Town', which takes place in Minnesota. I know, I know, it's a lame-cliche-comedy-chick-flick, BUT I have hopes of people no longer mentioning the movie 'Fargo' whenever I say I'm from MN...and I LOVE cheezy chick flicks!

Inspiration: Winter!

Yesterday, I had a photo shoot in Wisconsin and on my drive to our neighbor state, a heavy fog had rolled in and left this BEAUTIFUL frost on the bare trees! I just haaaaaaad to pull over and take a few shots!

I'm not even sure these images give nature justice as to how stunning it looked! It was gorgeous - and reminded me maybe some good things can come from winter! ;0)
